Qualifications

I am a U. S. citizen of 53 years. A 3rd generation Colorado native.

I am actively working on federal legislation for the Mancos Water Conservancy District. 

20 years of management for the Mancos Water Conservancy District.

Appointed member to the Colorado Southwest Interbasin Compact Committee and 2nd Vice-Chairman.

Duties:
Budget preparation, water management, delivery of irrigation water, water record keeping, policy updates,public relations, general maintenance of project structures, project planning, assistant secretary to the board,  manage district funds, grant writing, preparing and submitting language to the U.S congress on issues that  concern the District, hydro power plant operator and manager, review state statutes, review federal laws  pertaining to the project, submit water reports to the Colorado Division of Water Resources, report to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Financial manager, equipment operator, contract negotiations, monitoring the Jackson  Gulch Dam, emergency management and security for the project, liaison for the board, water education coordinator.



Work History

1990 to present - Superintendent, Mancos Water Conservancy District, Mancos, Colorado.
  Management of the Mancos Water Conservancy District and the Mancos Project (Jackson
  Gulch Dam and project infrastructure).

1984 to 1990 - Senior Operator, City of Cortez, Cortez, Colorado
    Water maintenance, crew leader, equipment operator, oversee and maintain domestic water
     service, street maintenance, snow removal.

1982 to 1984 - Foreman, ABCO Pipeline and Oil Field Services, Cortez, Colorado
     Oversee a 4-5 man crew, oil field roustabout duties ( moving pipe, clean up of well locations,
     oil spill clean up, pipeline construction, equipment operator, tank battery construction, welders
      helper.

1980 to 1982 - Communications Technician, Tucker Construction, Cortez, Colorado
    Placing new telephone lines, removing old overhead telephone lines.

1979 to 1980 - Finish Carpenter,  Cloverleaf Construction, Durango West, Colorado
     Finish carpenter of newly constructed houses, roofer, framer, concrete forming and placement.


1977 to 1979 - Assistant Service Manager, Halls Crossing Marina, Utah
      Pumping gas, launching and recovery of boats,  deliver fuel to marina, boat & auto
      maintenance, boat repair, maintenance of residential park, backup generator operator, welder.
 
1976 to 1977  - Carpenter, Shornhorst Construction, Cortez, Colorado
     All phases of construction.

1975 to 1975 - Laborer, Construction
      Laborer on church construction.

1972 to 1975 - Assistant Manager,  Mancos Trading Post
    Sales clerk, postal assistant, butcher, gas attendant, short order cook, stocker, laundry
    maintenance.
